Is tire grooves heading off the map, where good children are left alone in hills of God, in the grass, in towns that put a prickle up your neck. It’s the ink by which an idea arrived at your door one Sunday evening, parked mysteriously in the shadow of the porch with plates from a gleaming city. The circle of lamp-glow, only there, you make out some detail of the country star-pricked.
